Fleche April 28, 2008 - Saad Naseer (USA) - The Last Member of Peak Freaks Everest Expedition Arrives in Nepal

Saad Naseer from Chicago, USA, a member of the Peak Freaks Everest Expedition group arrived in Kathmandu yesterday. He took a flight to Lukla this morning at 7:15 a.m. From Lukla he trekked to Jorsale, and reached the place at 11a.m.

He is the last team member to arrive in Nepal. Saad's mission is to set a record for the rapid Everest ascent. His goal is to climb officially from the Base Camp on May 10- make it to the summit and reach the base camp by May 27- a rapid ascent of 17 days & 30 days from Kathmandu – the summit – and back to Kathmandu.

He has spent the past five weeks sleeping in a High Altitude sleeping chamber designed by a Canadian based company named Altitude Tech. According to the company, sleeping in the tent will change Saad's oxygen saturation slowly in his blood stream helping him to acclimatize well before he even arrives at the mountain. If this proves to be true, it may be that climbers won't need to take so much time away to attain the acclimatization needed to climb Everest.
